Ethereum trades at $2,390, down 2% over 24 hours, with the price still confined to a broad range. A $60,000 Ethereum price prediction would require a 2,410% gain from here. The key question is not whether ETH could reach that level under an unusually powerful adoption cycle, but whether current catalysts justify treating it as a plausible base case.
How ETH could reach $60,000!!Ethereum moved $20T+ in stablecoins over 12 months through June 2026 (Fidelity)It holds ~48% of global stablecoin supplyCiti projects ~$100T/year in stablecoin transfers by 2030If ETH captures 48% of flows: ~$48T/yearI am so bullish!!— borovik (@3orovik) October 18, 2026
Bloomberg reported that JPMorgan is bringing its JPM Coin deposit token to Ethereum for institutional clients, adding a concrete example of traditional finance building on the network.
Thailand has also introduced rules for Bitcoin and Ether ETFs, while Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade has advanced to the Sepolia testnet. All these developments could support access and network confidence, and could send ETH for a breakout.
Ethereum has underperformed Bitcoin this year, and ETF flows have shown signs of fading. The institutional story is real; the market still needs to price it in. Recent Ethereum coverage of JPMorgan’s deposit-token plans provides context for the adoption case, but the chart remains the stricter test.
At $2,390, ETH is near the $2,380 support area and below resistance around $2,450–$2,480, with the 50-day exponential moving average near that ceiling. A sustained close above $2,500 would improve the short-term structure; until then, price action looks like consolidation, not a confirmed trend reversal. The latest snapshot puts the 24-hour range at $2,370–$2,420.
The scenario map is straightforward. If support holds and ETH reclaims $2,500, the next resistance band is $2,500–$2,800. If price stays below resistance, the base case remains range-bound. A break under $2,380 would expose broader support around $2,313–$2,360; losing that zone would weaken the near-term setup.
For the $60,000 thesis, the scale is the problem: published 2026 targets cited by market trackers range from $3,175 to $7,500, while $60,000 sits at the extreme end of a much broader long-term projection. Is that impossible? No! But it is not a current consensus target.
Meanwhile, Thailand’s ETF rules and Glamsterdam testing are potential catalysts, but their impact depends on actual flows and successful upgrade progress.
